Although the “average” public school funding increase in the Republican version of the budget being discussed tomorrow (March 16) is 5%, the increased funding for Fiscal Year 2024 can be anywhere between a high of 18.9% all the way down to less than 1% depending on your school district.

For fiscal year 2025, more than a hundred school districts will receive less state funding than they received in 2024. How are the school districts losing funds supposed to keep up with inflation?  How will they fund text books?  Unfortunately the answer is often, “We’ll have to cut something.”

Under the current House Republican run of the student funding formula situation, the following school districts will receive less in Fiscal 2025 than they will in Fiscal Year 2024.
